Alabama A&M preview

Mississippi State is hoping a return to the friendly confines of Dudy Noble Field will result in a reversal of fortune starting tonight.

The Bulldogs went 1-4 last week on their first road trip of the season after going 14-3 to start the season at home. MSU hosts Alabama A&M tonight at 6:30 p.m.

It is just the second ever meeting between the two Bulldog schools. The inaugural game in the series took place last season with State claiming a 18-0 victory in seven innings. Kendall Graveman, Victor Diaz, Luis Pollorena and C.C. Watson combined for a two-hit shutout in that contest while Mississippi State bats had 12 hits and took advantage of three A&M errors.

MSU comes into tonight with an overall record of 15-7 and are coming off a 1-2 series loss at LSU to open up conference play. State dropped a pair of one run games before winning Sunday's finale 7-1 to close out the weekend series. During their week on the road, Mississippi State outhit their opponents 45-36 but stranded 40 runners on base, hit into five double plays and one triple play.
