Southeastern Louisiana preview

Mississippi State takes to the road for the first time this season ending a 17-game homestand to start the year.

The Bulldogs travel to the Bayou for a two-game midweek set against Southeastern Louisiana before continuing on to LSU to begin conference play this weekend. The games against the Lions in Hammond will both begin at 6 p.m.

MSU is 9-3 all-time against Southeastern Louisiana. The Diamond Dogs claimed the first nine meetings in the series before being swept in Starkville in 2010.

John Cohen's club is currently off to their best start since 2006 at 14-3 and are ranked as high has 13th in the country by Perfect Game. State is coming off a 2-1 series win over Mercer last weekend earning Cohen his 100th victory since returning to Starkville as the skipper.
