Mississippi State is looking to close out its three-game homestand strong with a win over Georgia today at 12:47 p.m.
Not only that but 18th ranked MSU is also hoping to tie the Humphrey Coliseum record with their 14 consecutive victory in Starkville. This season State is 14-1 on their home court with their only loss coming to Akron on Nov. 9.
Mississippi State has a two game advantage in the overall series against UGA at 52-50 having claimed four of the last five meetings. MSU has also won four straight at the Hump with Georgia's last victory in Starkville coming in 2002.
However it was Georgia who claimed the outing last season in Athens with a 86-64 victory. UGA jumped on State early with an 11-0 run hitting its first four 3-point attempts and never trailed in the contest. Dee Bost did lead all scorers with 20 points for Mississippi State going 7-of-15 from the field.
Rick Stansbury is 9-7 against Georgia and a win today would his eighth 20-plus win season.
MSU enters today's game with a 6-3 record in conference play and 19-5 overall. State has won four of its last five games including back-to-back win over Auburn and Ole Miss during his homestand. Mississippi State polished off the Rebels 70-60 Thursday night behind 18 points from junior forward Arnett Moultrie.
