Ole Miss preview
Rick Stansbury has certainly enjoyed his share of success in Starkville against Mississippi State's rivals to the north.
During his 13-year tenure Stansbury is 11-1 inside Humphrey Coliseum against Ole Miss winning by a a average margin of 12 points. He hopes that trend continues today taking on the Rebels at 12:30 p.m. with sole possession of econd place in the SEC West on the line.
The Bulldogs have won four straight in the series pushing their all-time edge to 137-105. MSU has claimed 17 of the last 20 games played in Starkville and a win today would give Stansbury six sweeps under his watch against Ole Miss.
State escaped Oxford for the second consecutive season on Jan. 13 with a 69-64 victory holding the Rebels scoreless for the final three minutes of the game to rally back. Junior point guard Dee Bost led the charge scoring 25 points in the previous outing.
The Bulldogs come into this afternoon's game with a 13-12 overall record and a 5-6 record inside the league having lost two straight. Despite tying a season-best 12 3-pointers, Mississippi State is coming off a 85-79 setback at Kentucky Tuesday night.
