| Bulldogs bowl hopes denied | by Logan Lowery
Mississippi State had their bowl hopes dashed Saturday as Arkansas' Ryan Mallett torched the Bulldogs secondary for five touchdowns in a 42-21 win.
The Bulldogs kept pace with the high scoring Hogs for most of the contest but ultimately were no match for the 6-foot-7 sophomore.

Mississippi State has backed into a must win situation in their final two games to have any hopes of extending their season and reaching a bowl.
The Bulldogs are currently 4-6 on the season and will have to pick up wins at Arkansas and at home against Ole Miss in the Egg Bowl to reach postseason play.
MSU travels to Little Rock today to take on the Razorbacks at their home away from home War Memorial Stadium at 11:21 a.m. The Bulldogs have found success so far this season away from Starkville posting a 3-1 road mark.
