The Good: Barber has been a steady performer in the Gophers secondary recently, combining decent range with strong tackling skills. He is best suited for strong safety at the NFL level because he has a good nose for the ball, shows fine instincts and can finish the play with sure stops. As a senior, he made 100 tackles.
The Bad: Much of Barber's coverage responsibilities have been in a zone scheme. He is relatively poor in man-to-man situations. He needs to make progress in basic coverage technique, especially his ability to turn and run with receivers.
