Nelson Makes an Impression in Norman
Of the nearly 80 2010 prospects on Oklahoma's campus last Saturday very few created a bigger stir among internet message boards than Dallas Skyline star linebacker Corey Nelson. The final piece of Oklahoma's junior day was each players chance to attend the Oklahoma-Baylor men's basketball game, and just before the start of the second half Nelson and Sooner defensive coordinator Brent Venables left a lasting impression on Sooner fans.
During the game, just behind the announcers Venables and Nelson flashed a downward Horns signal to the camera and also posed for a photograph doing the same.
For Nelson the event was a small one but his time spent with Venables was a rousing success.
"It was pretty funny, but I was more interested in what the coaches were saying," Nelson said. "I really liked coach Venables and the rest of the coaches.
"(Venables) was talking to me about his family, my family, and how I could come in and contribute to the team. How I could make plays on the field and how I'd fit in well with their coaching staff."
