Bulldogs Move up the Board in Bowl History with Liberty Bowl Performance
On Friday, we took a look at the records that the Bulldogs set for the season and the top 10 that many of the individuals now find themselves in. A big part of those records came from their final game of the season at the Liberty Bowl. The past four years have been historic for Mississippi State history in bowl games and we take you inside just how historic this last one was.
Dan Mullen became the winningest coach in MSU history in regards to bowl games last week. The fifth-year coach has already had the second most bowl appearances (4) and had more wins in those appearances (3) than any coach in Mississippi State history including Jackie Sherrill who won only two of his six appearances in 13 years.
No coach in MSU history has been to four-straight bowl games. Sherrill took the Bulldogs to three straight from 1999-2000. Mullen broke that record this season.
MSU began their first 10 bowl games with a 4-6 record. They have won six out of their last seven since and are now 10-7 overall in bowl trips.
