DAYTON, Ohio Chris Wright had 17 points and 14 rebounds and Dayton overcame a 12-point early deficit to defeat New Mexico 76-73 in double overtime Saturday.
Paul Williams opened the second overtime period with a 3-pointer to give Dayton (12-3) a 74-71 lead, and Wright added two foul shots. That was enough as the Lobos (11-3) were 0 for 4 from the field and 2 for 6 from the free-throw line in the second OT.
New Mexico led 33-21 at the 4:04 mark and 38-32 at halftime.
After the Flyers rallied to lead 64-58 with 3:54 left, the Lobos ended regulation on a 6-0 run.
Dairese Gary, whose layup knotted the first overtime, scored 19 points to lead New Mexico, which has lost two of its last three.
