McCoy starts the rounds with trip to A&M
While this was a big weekend for Texas A&M with the Aggies hosting 12 official visitors, they also had two other big-time prospects on campus. Although last weekend was the first junior day of the spring, two members of the 2010 class that were unable to attend made unofficial visits on Saturday to College Station. Haltom defensive end Reggie Wilson and Graham quarterback Case McCoy both made the drive to check out Aggieland.
McCoy is one of two quarterbacks that have been offered by A&M, with the other being early Aggie commit Jameill Showers. The 6-foot-2, 180-pound junior has been a frequent visitor in College Station, but wanted a chance to meet more extensively with the coach staff. He says things went well.
"It went well," said McCoy on Sunday afternoon. "It was a good experience and they treated me right, for sure. It was fun; I had a lot of fun. I've been there several times before so I didn't really learn anything or see anything different. They just did a good job of letting me know they really wanted me.
"I'm actually still in town. We're staying at the Miramont and we tried to golf yesterday but, with the weather, we only got like six holes in. We're going back out today because it's nicer."
McCoy had a chance to meet with head coach Mike Sherman as well as offensive coordinator Nolan Cromwell and quarterback coach Tom Rossley. He also ran into one of the official visitors as well.
