Norwood searching for greater success
With the heralded arrival of four new defensive linemen in January, three of them freshmen, sophomore Eric Norwood became lost in the hype.
But his dominating performance in Friday's scrimmage at Williams-Brice Stadium made sure that won't be the case anymore.
Norwood had 3.5 sacks and spent most of the afternoon chasing USC's quarterbacks in the offensive backfield, leading the defense to victory in the final scrimmage prior to Saturday's spring game.
Considering Norwood tied for the team lead in sacks with seven last year and was named to multiple Freshman All-Conference and All-American teams, his highly productive outing shouldn't have come as much of a surprise.
