Workout Insider: New position for Dunham?
Other than a short running session scheduled for Friday morning, the Florida State football team wrapped up workouts for this week on Thursday. As is the case every Thursday, the players spent nearly a hour going through grueling work capacity circuit training. During this exercise, each player rotates through various stations that involve the lifting, pushing or pulling of weights, while other stations require short sprints, or are dedicated to changing directions quickly.
Thursday was not only the first work capacity circuit training session for the freshmen, it was also the first time they were thrown into the mix with their new varsity teammates. Through the first two workouts, the newcomers were segregated from the rest of the team while they got themselves acclimated and evaluated by team trainers. From all accounts, the rookies did extremely well on their first day with the full team and have impressed the strength and conditioning staff all week.
"They did everything the varsity did today," strength and conditioning coach Jon Jost said. "I am very impressed with this freshmen class. I am impressed with them because for every workout they have all been on time, they have all been very coachable, have listened and have shown a great work ethic. That is a tremendous start. I think that we have an extraordinary amount of talent in this class and also maturity. We have a group of players that really want to come in and contribute right away to this team."
