Practice Insider: Bye week wraps
As Chris Galippo was running to Howard Jones Field before practice, he wanted everyone to hear him. A vocal leader for the Trojans throughout the year, the middle linebacker started singing the chorus to the Marcy Playground song 'Sex and Candy' as loudly as he could.
"Hey mama this surely is a dream," Galippo sang off-tune over and over.
Although practicing at 6:30 a.m. Friday might have left others in a dream-like state, the Trojans kept up their trademark intensity in an up-tempo no-pads scrimmage to end their bye week on a high note.
"This was a great workout this morning," Pete Carroll said. "To have the focus and the attention that we had, it wasn't the amount of plays we had; it was really the administration of the game and the substitutions. We did it just like a regular game."
