Practice Insider: Barkley returns
Pete Carroll did not make a ringing endorsement for who his starting quarterback will be for Saturday's game against Washington State. If Tuesday's practice was any indication however, Matt Barkley will leave the coach no choice.
"I'm playing no matter what," Barkley said. "I don't care if it hurts or not; I'll be in there."
Barkley received his most work since injuring his shoulder against Ohio State. Although he looked sharp throwing the ball, Carroll remained cautious by holding him out of the final team period to ice his shoulder.
"We don't (want to) overdo it," Carroll said. "The most difficult challenge right now is to manage this really well. We'll try to do it really right and see if we can get him ready and prepared. In the meantime, Aaron's doing his stuff and getting ready. Right now we've just got to wait and see."
