Mullen pleased with late practice
Dan Mullen was very pleased with his team's first practice after school started under the lights on Tuesday night.
Mississippi State practiced well into the evening concluding practice just at 10 p.m. after their second full day of classes.
"Last night's practice was good," Mullen said. "They had high energy. They had basically three days off so they came back with a lot of energy and looked okay. That's one for the future right there. They came out and gave what they had and put one in the bank right there."
Tuesday night was the first practice that all 19 true freshman went full speed after combining classes with practice.
"They held up good," Mullen said of the freshmen. "I think the fact that it wasn't the first day, it was after the second day and they weren't rushing right over after class to meetings allowed them to be focused more on football. I think that went pretty well."
Tuesday was also the first full-speed practice for freshman wide receiver Ricco Sanders. Sanders was allowed to go in full pads now that the acclimation period was waived the start of classes.
