Jackson wants more interest from BC
Newark (Dela.) Hodgson Vo-Tech running back Jamaal Jackson is currently ranked by Rivals.com as the top prospect in Delaware's Class of 2010, and he's now up to ten offers. Boston College is one of the schools that extended an offer earlier in the recruiting process, but now Jackson is on the record claiming he wants to hear more from BC.
To be precise, it's not that Jackson just likes the Eagles more than the other schools on his list. On the contrary, BC isn't in his current top three. He just hasn't been hearing as much from the Eagles as he would like to hear.
"Yeah, I'm still interested in BC," Jackson confirmed to EagleAction.com. "My boat is still open. Everybody still has a clean shot. As of right now Michigan, East Carolina and Rutgers are showing me the most love, so that's who I'm speaking with. Others can step up and if they do then they can get into the picture, but that's who I'm feeling the love from right now.
"More than anything (the attention) shows they really care about you. It shows they want you to play there. If I'm not talking to a school much then it makes you think they're looking at somebody else."
Jackson claims he is now up to 5-foot-9 and 171-pounds. He also said his best 40-yard dash time is 4.42 seconds, a slight improvement over his previous best.
"I'm just going through training camp and all that now. I feel as though I've got much stronger. I've become faster than I felt last year. Overall I think the team is more competitive. We're more disciplined as a team and we're more of a team than last year. I think we can be championship contenders."
Jackson believes his team will be finding new and creative ways of getting him the ball when the season starts soon.
"I'm gonna be everywhere on the field," he explained. "I'll take it however I can get the ball and I'll do whatever they ask me to do. I can go in the flat and I can go in the slot. Wherever they tell me to go and whatever they tell me to do, that's what I'll do."
He went on to talk about official visits and what the future might hold.
"I talked to the ECU coach and the Rutgers coach not long ago. I need to call them again to set up official visits. I need to look back and see when I'll most likely be able to do it. I'll most likely take all my visits during the season.
"I'm definitely going to Michigan, too. Besides those three I really don't know."
