So Cal RB makes the call
Fall camp hasn't even started, but that doesn't mean recruiting isn't still in full swing. On Tuesday, the Beavers hosted Mission Hills (Calif.) Alemany running back Malcolm Marable, who walked away very impressed with what he saw in Corvallis. Did the visit show the 5-foot-8, 160 pound speedster enough to pull the trigger?
"I called Coach Riley this morning to tell him that I wanted to be a Beaver," Marable said. "He was really excited and I was really excited. He told me that he was glad to have me as part of the family and to continue to work hard throughout my senior season."
A three time All-Mission League selection and last year's league MVP, Marable tallied 1655 yards and 23 touchdowns in helping lead Alemany to a league championship, something he feels that the Warriors could do once again this season.
While he is excited about what lies ahead with his high school teammates, today it is his college future which has him on cloud nine. It was his visit to Corvallis solidified his decision.
"The visit to Oregon State went great," he said. "I received a tour of the school and was able to hang out with a few friends who are on the team, Lance Mitchell and Rashaad Reynolds."
