Grimes looking to build OL depth
Juniors Lee Ziemba, Ryan Pugh, Byron Isom and Mike Berry have combined to start 59 games. Senior Andrew McCain has played in 27 entering his fifth season.
Those five players ended spring as Auburn's first-team offensive line and will begin fall in the same capacity. But offensive line coach Jeff Grimes isn't handing out starting jobs with the season still a month away.
"That's a good starting point and certainly those guys have a lot more experience than the other guys and have earned the right to start off in those positions but I'm never going to say anything is set in stone and it couldn't change," Grimes said.
But establishing a starting group and getting those five linemen working together is not necessarily a top priority for Grimes, who is putting more emphasis on establishing depth.
