Defense: sum of parts

WVSports.com MORGANTOWN--West Virginia's defense may be one of the best in the Big East this season, but on a national level the public perception may not include the Mountaineers with a Southern Cal or an Oklahoma. Part of the reason is probably coordinator Jeff Casteel and the team-first attitude. There may be no preseason All-American here like Tennessee safety Eric Berry; USF defensive end George Selvie, Florida linebacker Brandon Spikes or USC safety Taylor Mays, but there are plenty of strong, veteran football players.
