Mississippi lineman wants to fulfill a dream
Benton Academy (Miss.) offensive guard Ben Beckwith is still waiting on his first offer but is receiving his share of interest.
The 6-foot-4, 300-pounder is getting the most attention from the three major instate programs and that suits him just fine. Beckwith has always had a dream of representing his home state in college.
"I would love to stay instate but it wouldn't bother me to go out of state," Beckwith said. "Of course my dream would be to stay somewhere instate and represent the state but it wouldn't bother me if I had to go out of state. I wouldn't mind it that much but everybody has their dream."
Mississippi State, Ole Miss and Southern Miss are the top programs that seem to be interested but Beckwith is also getting looks from several other schools as well.
"It's really the main three in the state that I've been hearing from a lot," Beckwith said. "I've been getting letters and camp brochures. I've heard from Alabama, Tennessee, Vanderbilt, Arkansas State and Marshall. Everything is going pretty good."
Beckwith attended several practices and scrimmages at Mississippi State and liked what he saw.
