Offers roll in as stress levels jump for Dorsey
The offers keep rolling in for Wayne Dorsey.
However, his approach to the recruiting process hasn't changed.
Dorsey, a 6-foot-7, 255-pound defensive end from Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College picked up scholarship offers earlier this week from South Florida and Oklahoma State, joining Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Southern Mississippi, Tennessee and others in the battle for his signature.
Still, Dorsey's strategy is the same.
"I'm still trying to take it slow," Dorsey said.
Another thing that hasn't changed is Dorsey's plan to stop by the Ole Miss campus on his way back to Perkiston, Miss., from his home in Maryland.
"I'm going to try to stop there on my way down," Dorsey said. "Ole Miss is showing me the most attention. I definitely appreciate it."
Dorsey, who remains on pace to graduate from Gulf Coast in December and enroll in the school of his choosing in January, said that despite the fast timetable, schools aren't putting extra pressure on him. That's a good thing, as Dorsey admitted that he's starting to feel the strain of his impending decision.
"It's real stressful," Dorsey said. "I don't have time to wait. I need to go somewhere where I can step in and be an impact player. Then again, I have to evaluate every situation and see what's best for me."
