Four-star ATH picks up two more offers
One of the most physically impressive prospects in the class of 2010 is Miami (Fla.) Palmetto athlete Delvin Jones. At 6-foot-6, 230 pounds, Jones can play defensive end, tight end or even wide receiver. That athleticism and versatility has landed him two more major scholarship offers.
"I got two new offers from West Virginia and Alabama," Jones said on Tuesday.
The offers add to a list that already include big names like USC, Florida, Michigan, Tennessee and others. Both of his new offers are schools that look right at home among his other major offers.
"Alabama, it's pretty good," he said. "I know they've got a pretty good defense and they've got Julio Jones. West Virginia I don't know too much about them I just know about Noel Devine."
One of the hot topics with Jones' recruitment is the question of where he will play on the field: offense or defense?
"Alabama offered me for both," he said. "They were telling me wherever I feel comfortable and I don't know where West Virginia offered me for."
In late March, Jones named Florida, Oregon and USC as his three favorite and a month later those three remain at the top.
"That's probably the same because I haven't been paying too much attention to the other schools because I've been focused on practice."
With spring ball underway, Jones is gearing up for his May 27th spring game against Coral Gables HS. For Miami Palmetto, the impressive prospect is playing wide receiver, defensive end and even some standup linebacker.
