2011 Standout Thomas Talks Vols, Recruiting
With the NCAA making April AAU tournaments off-limits for college coaches starting this spring, the task of evaluating underclassmen in particular just got a lot harder. That will make it harder for some prospects to get noticed, but one member of the Class of 2011 that coaches are already abundantly familiar with is Memphis wing Adonis Thomas.
Thomas (6-foot-5, 205 pounds), from Melrose HIgh School, possesses a rare blend of size and athleticism for a player just wrapping up his sophomore year of high school.
Playing with five-star point guard Joe Jackson and the Memphis Magic this past weekend in the String Music Showcase at David Lipscomb University, Thomas showed onlookers why some college coaches consider him the best down-the-road prospect in the state regardless of class.
