Wilson's camp performances bring more attention
Some players allow the game of recruiting to come to them while others see recruiting of college suitors as part of the circus. One player who falls into the second category is most definitely Moore (Okla.) Southmoore wide receiver Julian Wilson who has gone to one camp after another working at both receiver and defensive back in hopes of building his name and adding offers to his lone scholarship, SMU.
The 6-foot-2, 172-pound receiver was most recently in Bethany, Okla. for last weekend's OKVarsity.com all-state combine and put up a blistering 4.3-second 40-yard dash on several stop watches.
Not surprisingly he came away with a strong feeling about his effort during the combine.
"You know I felt I did real well performance wise during the combine. I didn't have to run the 40 but I figured I had been running track and would be faster so I could just run it to see where I was," Wilson said. "I didn't think I'd run a 4.3-second 40-yard dash. I figured I'd be around 4.45-seconds. I can't lie, I was pretty impressed with myself."
