Recruiting process heating up for Evans
The recruiting process in the state of Texas has sped up exponentially in 2010. Due to a rash of early commitments, schools often find themselves evaluating one minute and then issuing an offer the next. As a result, many prospects are getting requests to call college coaches for a verbal offer or are receiving letters in the mail with scholarship paperwork that are coming as surprises - albeit very pleasant ones - to high school juniors.
Arlington Seguin cornerback Ciante Evans is a prime example of these tactics. The 6-foot-1, 170-pound junior had four interceptions last season and, despite the fact that it is 11 months until signing day, he's nearly doubled his interception total in offers.
