Top-flight QB has true grit
There are a lot of items that go into what makes a quarterback successful on all levels. There are the obvious things such as arm strength, footwork and leadership qualities, but one thing that sometimes gets overlooked is toughness, both mental and physical grit.
Tyler Shreve (6-4, 215, 4.7) from Redlands (Calif.) Redlands East Valley (REV) embodies all of those qualities and that is why he is one of the best quarterbacks from the state of California for the class of 2010.
In Shreve's first game of the 2008 season he had a one-plus degree separation on his throwing shoulder, yet he never missed a snap all season. That alone would prove the kind of grit that Shreve brings the table, but that wasn't the only injury he suffered and that's what makes his junior season performance even more impressive.
By the season's end, Shreve was playing on a high right ankle sprain, but that's not all, he also had a left ankle sprain, though it wasn't high, he was still one of the walking wounded, but never missed an offensive down.
