Lebo talking Mississippi State

Auburn is coming off two consecutive Southeastern Conference wins over both Tennessee and Arkansas.

The Tigers will attempt to make it three league wins in a row this afternoon hosting Mississippi State but head coach Jeff Lebo knows things will not be easy against the Bulldogs.

"They are a great basketball team and Rick (Stansbury) has done a great job with them," Lebo said. "They are playing a different way. What is so impressive is that Rick has changed a lot of what he does to fit his personnel. I think he is one of the most underrated coaches in the country. He has done a great job with his team and finding ways to be successful. He's got a difference maker inside too in (Jarvis) Varnado."

Lebo is particularly impressed with MSU's ability to shoot the ball from the outside. The Bulldogs are shooting 37.9-percent on the year but made only 5-of-24 in their double overtime loss to LSU on Wednesday.

"They present a lot of problems with their ability to shoot the basketball from three," Lebo said. "That's certainly an area we try to focus on. We shoot a lot of three's here too. There are going to be games where they don't go in. What was impressive about (Wednesday) night's game is that it didn't go in but they still had a chance to win that basketball game shooting as poorly as they did."

Lebo is not sure if what LSU did on defense would present a format that his team could follow for today's game at 4 p.m. on FSN.
