Heavens leaning towards Miss. State
Jess Lanier three-star prospect Brandon Heavens has been committed to Auburn for over nine months.
But the 5-foot-10, 165-pounder from Bessemer, Ala., could be making a change when he announces his decision on signing day after a weekend visit to Mississippi State.
"It's still close between Mississippi State and Auburn," Heavens said. "I'm kind of leaning more towards Mississippi State now. Our signing day thing at school is at 11 o'clock on Wednesday. I'll probably just tell everybody then."
Heavens' official visit to Starkville this past weekend was the only visit he took during the recruiting process but even it almost didn't happen. Heavens came down with a severe cold which nearly caused him to cancel the trip but he insisted on coming according to his mother.
Heavens was glad he was able to tough it out and make the visit.
"The whole thing went good," Heavens said. "My favorite part was when we went to the basketball game and we walked at the bottom to get to our seats and the crowd gave us a standing ovation. They had some signs with my name on them and that was pretty cool. I wasn't expecting anything like that."
Heavens also admitted they were fed really well on the visit and that he enjoyed hanging out with his host Nick Bell and some of the other Bulldog players.
