Chizik has in-home visit with LB commit
New Auburn head coach Gene Chizik has hit the recruiting trail hard since being announced at a press conference Monday.
Wednesday's road trips included several stops in the Birmingham area, which concluded with an in-home visit with Bessemer (Ala.) Academy linebacker Harris Gaston.
Chizik and AU recruiter Phillip Lolley spent nearly two hours with Gaston and his parents.
"It went good. He's a nice guy," Gaston said. "He's very upfront, straightforward. He answered all our questions firmly. From 1 to 10, I'd give him a 10.
"Ever since he took the job he's been out recruiting and meeting the commitments. He has that go-get-it attitude everybody is looking for."
One of the questions Chizik answered for Gaston was about his record in two seasons as head coach at Iowa State.
