Bill Self had mixed emotions following KU's exhibition opener against Washburn last Tuesday night. While the Jayhawks did defeat the Ichabods, 98-79, they were out-rebounded, 37-36, and looked sluggish on defense. Self's squad will look to take several steps forward later tonight, as Kansas will play host to Emporia State.

Two days after Kansas defeated Washburn, 98-79, Self spent a few minutes talking about his team and what he learned about his squad after the first exhibition game of the year.
