North Shore duo makes debut in Rivals250
Galena Park North Shore is currently in the midst of the state of Texas' longest regular season winning streak in history. The Mustangs are sitting at 77 in a row headed into this weekend's regular season finale against fellow undefeated and state-ranked Beaumont West Brook with the district title on the line.
With the success the team has had on the field, it should be no surprise that head coach David Aymond has plenty of individual talent around as well. Four North Shore seniors are currently committed to Division I schools, but the headliners appear to be a pair of juniors who recently made debuts in the Rivals250 to watch for the class of 2010.
"No sir, I haven't received any offers yet," said junior offensive tackle Trey Hopkins. "Texas A&M is the main one that has been in contact with me. Coach Van Malone writes a lot and I think they may be close to offering. It really is pretty much just A&M right now that I'm hearing from."
