Stewart pushing for extra padding

WVSports.com MORGANTOWN-Seven West Virginia assistant coaches got off the recruiting road late Tuesday night and rejoined head coach Bill Stewart, his coordinators, and the Mountaineers for a jaunty Wednesday afternoon workout. This being a bye week leading up to the Thursday, Oct. 23, bally-hooed showdown with Auburn at home (7:30 p.m., ESPN), at sold-out Milan Puskar Stadium), Stewart could disburse the NCAA allowable number of recruiters checking out 2009 and '10 prospects (offers for the latter were sent out Sept. 1). WVU shows a listing of 15 committed '09 prospects, with the national letter of intent singing period opening on Feb. 4, 2009.
