Younger McCoy likes what he sees from A&M
Graham head coach Brad McCoy has been through this before. Four years ago, his son Colt was one of the most highly recruited quarterbacks in the state of Texas. McCoy helped to oversee a recruiting process that led his son to eventually chose Texas over Texas A&M and has been the starter at quarterback since his redshirt freshman year.
Now, McCoy is again overseeing the recruitment of another son, junior Case McCoy. The younger McCoy has hit 54 of 85 passes this season for about 800 and six touchdowns and has added 100 yards rushing. He's even averaging 44 yards per punt on special teams.
Those expecting McCoy to be a lot like his older brother may be in for a couple of surprises. Although both are coach's sons who like the outdoor life, the similarities end there as football players.
For one thing, Brad McCoy thinks that the younger McCoy is farther ahead of his brother at this stage of their careers.
The 6-foot-2, 169-pound McCoy has a scholarship offer from Auburn and is getting heavy interest from Texas A&M, Texas, Florida State, Texas Tech, Nebraska and Colorado State.
