Carlson hopes the best is yet to come
When most people remember Adam Carlson, they are automatically going to think about his career-long 48-yard field goal to win the Egg Bowl last season.
But as great as that moment was for Carlson and Bulldog fans, he hopes his greatest achievement hasn't taken place yet.
"Hopefully it will be something I do this year and not something I did last year," Carlson said. "We hope to build on an even greater season. Hopefully I will get some more chances. Hopefully we will just blow out and we will be know as the team that did something that hasn't been done in forever and that's winning an SEC Championship. I'd rather have that legacy than the win we had in the Egg Bowl."
Carlson was able to redeem himself against Ole Miss after missing a kick in nearly the same situation in 2006 at Oxford.
"It was a totally different feeling," Carlson said. "Up at Ole Miss, I knew that I had some more years and I looked at the seniors faces and their disappointment. I work hard everyday not to have that happen again. To be able to do what we did as a team last year but also to end it the way we did was definitely uplifting. It was just a lot better feeling."
