Vegas: Wrap-up report

Peegs.com < Before returning to Indiana on Friday we had the chance to watch a pair of rising senior power forwards that have been mentioned with Indiana. First we watched Richard Howell of Marietta, Georgia score 25 points and lead his Worldwide Renegades Orange back from a late deficit and escape an early round Reebok Summer Championships upset bid from the Southwest Titans of New Mexico. The 6-foot-7, 220-pound Howell repeatedly drove the ball down the stretch past the Titans' 6-foot-10 big man Alex Kirk. Afterwards Howell, the #59 player in the Class of 2009, told us he has been speaking to Indiana assistant Bennie Seltzer and has a scholarship offer from the Hoosiers. At this time though the word is he may be an NC State lean as his mother is apparently moving or has moved to Raleigh.
Howell's Worldwide Renegade team was able to advance all the way to yesterday's quarterfinals where they fell in overtime to the John Wall led D-One Sports squad. The Marietta forward had 16 points in that defeat.
