QB Gilchrist adds offer, continues busy summer
Savannah, TN Hardin County QB Will Gilchrist (6-1,190) is ranked as the 22nd best Dual-Threat Quarterback in the Nation. Gilchrist has been out to prove just how good he is this summer by attending numerous camps around the south and impressing coaches at each stop. He recently camped at Middle Tennessee State and came away with an offer, his third to go along with Louisiana Tech and Navy.
"I went to camp at MTSU and they didn't offer me at camp, but they said they wanted to sit down and re-evaluate me and then see what they were going to do. They offered me about a week ago." Gilchrist noted he also had a good deal of interest in the Blue Raiders. "Yes, sir I have a lot of interest, I like the offense they run and I think it would be a good fit."
Gilchrist said the coaching staff was impressed with his 4.59 forty time and also noted that the coaching staff has had him up for camps since he was a Sophomore. He is also going to camp at Louisiana Tech on the 18th of the month and he also plans to go to a 7-on-7 camp at Ole Miss later this month.
One of the many camps Gilchrist has been to so far was Memphis and he had glowing reviews for the coaching staff.
"I got a lot of one on one attention at Memphis. I like the quarterbacks coach, coach Helton a lot and also Tommy West, I liked him a lot too."
Although Gilchrist didn't come away with an offer he feels that the staff is very interested in him and he doesn't plan to make a commitment anytime soon.
"I talked it over with my parents and we're just going to see what happens towards the end of the summer, I'm not going to rush into anything."
Look for Gilchrist's stock to rise as he has been impressive throughout the summer camp circuit and a school like Memphis could jump in at any time with an offer to the highly talented Quarterback.
