Ward will be Sooner rather than later
No matter how good of a player he may be, Eric Ward is accustomed to a relatively quiet media presence. It's no offense to West Texas to say that even a great program like Wichita Falls Rider fails to have the media attention of the Southlake Carroll and Jenks' of the world. So since committing it came as no surprise to Ward that most of the world of recruiting has left him alone.
In fact, he somewhat relishes it.
"I changed my number so most people can't get at me, they can't talk to me," Ward said of both opposing coaches as well as reporters.
One person who has stayed in touch with Ward is Sooner first-year assistant coach Jay Norvell. Oklahoma's latest wide receiver coach was able to turn Ward from a player with a wandering eye into a Sooner commitment in just a matter of weeks.
The two's relationship has only grown from there.
