Coach: Butte is Bellamy's best path to USF
If he can be patient and not rush back to the Tampa Bay area, Joshua Bellamy will make a successful return to USF. If not, his odds get considerably longer. At least that's the way Butte-Glenn Community College head coach Jeff Jordan sees things playing out for the former Bulls signee.
After failing to pass the NCAA Clearinghouse to enroll at USF last year, Bellamy joined St. Petersburg Boca Ciega High teammate Preston Pace at Butte in Oroville, Calif., a town of approximately 13,000, about 80 miles north of Sacramento. Bellamy put together a terrific freshman campaign, playing receiver and quarterback. He finished the season with 34 receptions - including eight touchdowns - and also returned a kickoff 97 yards for a score.
