Cox in no hurry to make a decision
Fletcher Cox is not committed to LSU.
He knows that rumor is out there, but the Yazoo City, Miss., defensive end wants to put it to rest.
"That wasn't true," Cox said. "I was talking but they added more to it. LSU was one of the schools that I liked when I was growing up."
Cox, a 6-foot-4, 240-pound, self-proclaimed "beast that loves to play the game of football and help his team win a championship," has offers from Ole Miss, LSU, Mississippi State, Alabama, Auburn, Alcorn State and Southern Miss. He said Wednesday that Mississippi State, Alabama and LSU _ in no particular order _ are his favorites.
"I'm looking for a good school, a good place where I can be for four years and enjoy myself," Cox said.
Cox, who had 103 tackles, 11 sacks, 2 interceptions and a fumble recovery returned for a touchdown last season, is interested in finding out if Ole Miss could be a school that meets his criteria.
"I want to talk to them and visit the campus and see what it's like," Cox said.
The spring evaluation period is here, and for many prospects around the country, decisions seem to be near. That's not the case for Cox.
"I'm just going to make my decision and go where I'm comfortable," Cox said. "I'm going to take my time."
