No time like the present for Lewis
In years past some of the longest waits Oklahoma has experienced in recruiting is during their pursuit of the state's top ranked players. Gerald McCoy, Robert Meachem, Jermaine Gresham, Jameel Owens and Stacey McGee all made the Sooners wait until at least mid-November. However one of the highest ranked players on their board, as evidenced by his early offer, is Dewar superstar Ronnell Lewis.
Lewis bucked the trend of long waits in-state and committed to Oklahoma. In fact it could have been the shortest wait in Bob Stoops' coaching career.
"Oklahoma was always where I wanted to go, coach asked me about it and I took it right off the bat," Lewis said. "I don't think they were surprised; I'm pretty sure they knew it was coming."
The offer came just days after he attended Junior days at both Oklahoma and Oklahoma State. While Norman and Stillwater aren't buzzing metropolises in comparison to Dewar it's similar to comparing Manhattan, NY to Manhattan, Kan.
