Four Star RB enjoys Mizzou junior day
St. Louis University High (SLUH) RB Ronnie Wingohas already been ranked as one of the top players in the Show Me State in 2009. The 6-foot-2 Wingo said he already saw things getting crazy as he started getting into recruiting for the coming months.
Wingo currently holds offers from Missouri, Illinois, Tennessee, and Minnesota, but said that two of the schools have been talking with him the most. He said that developing an early relationship with a coach was important.
Yesterday, Wingo headed to Columbia, Missouri for the Tigers' junior day at Mizzou Arena. He said that after the week Missouri had had, not only was the event a good time, but the win was a very exciting one to be at for everyone in attendence.
During the game, Wingo said he really enjoyed the chance to meet several current Tigers as they watched the game. He said that getting the chance to spend some time talking with an old friend allowed him to hear some of his own thoughts about the Tigers.
Along with the current Tigers (and those signing on Wednesday), Wingo talked quite a bit with his fellow members of the class of 2009. Much like his talk with Maclin, Wingo said the feeling amongst the visitors was very positive towards the Tigers.
Missouri's event won't be the only junior day that Wingo attends, but at this time, he admitted there would be only one other early campus visit he'd take. After that, it was unclear what his next step might be.
The visit to Columbia wasn't his first recruiting event this year. At the beginning of the year, Wingo took part in the Rivals.com All American Junior Combine. He said being in San Antonio was an experience he wouldn't forget.
With things early for the St. Louis talent, Wingo knew that he didn't have to rush anthing so far in advance of his signing day. However, after this week's events, Wingo said that he would start to sort out where everything was in recruiting.
