Vandenberg makes official visit
One day after committing to the Hawkeyes, quarterback James Vandenberg made his way to Iowa City for his official visit this weekend. The 6-foot-2, 176-pound Vandenberg, who led Keokuk to a state championship this year, had a great two days on campus.
Vandenberg's host on the official visit was Oskaloosa native Tyler Sash. The quarterback was also able to spend time with several other current players, including many of the Iowa natives. On Saturday, Vandenberg met with offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Ken O'Keefe to talk about the Iowa offense.
Vandenberg, who completed nearly 70% of his passes for 3,749 yards and 49 touchdowns this year, made his way to head coach Kirk Ferentz's house on Sunday morning for breakfast before heading home.
Vandenberg, who committed to Iowa on Thursday over scholarship offers from Nebraska and Northern Illinois, said the official visit made him even more confident in his decision.
