Sooners get first commitment in over two months
With coaching change comes the inevitable fallout, in today's day and age of highly-publicized recruiting that almost automatically means the never ending revolving door of de-commitments. With the firing of Ed Orgeron over the weekend most thought the Sooners would be collecting a commitment from Ole Miss commit Daniel Thomas. However it was a safety committed to another school that has recently gone through a coaching change that saw the light in Norman.
That player is Wichita Falls (Texas) Rider four-star safety Markelle Martin. It seems that the once very firm Aggie commitment was disheartened by the parting of ways between A&M and former head coach Dennis Franchione.
"I love A&M, the whole atmosphere and the fans and everything; it was just that the coaching change didn't feel right. I wanted to play for the coach who recruited me; I didn't want it to be a coach who was referred to me. I wanted to have chemistry with the coaches," Martin said.
