Caulcrick answers the call
EAST LANSING - Heading into Michigan State's game against Penn State Saturday, first-year head coach Mark Dantonio believed rushing for at least 100 yards would be needed to achieve victory over the Nittany Lions.
Senior running back Jehuu Caulcrick answered the call rushing for 99 yards and a touchdown on 22 carries in the Spartans' come from behind victory over the Nittany Lions, 35-31, in his final game at Spartan Stadium.
Although Caulcrick's effort was shy of 100 yards, junior Javon Ringer, who leads the Spartans with 1,346 yards on the ground this season, added another 48 yards on 13 carries.
Ringer didn't mind taking a back seat to his backfield mate and close friend on Senior Day.
"I'm very happy, man. To see him with the performance that he had today, my personal opinion, the running game was all him. He did his thing running the ball," Ringer said. "I mean, I was very, very happy to see him do that, especially to go out like that; his last game in Spartan Stadium, just to see him happy and to see him smiling."
