Wide receiver Jarrett Boykin was the star recruit visiting Virginia Tech on Saturday when the Hokies hosted Florida State. There were plenty of other recruits who made their way to Blacksburg as well including one star from 2009.
Lynchburg (Va.) Brookville School athlete Logan Thomas was one such player that made the trip.
"I loved it," he said. "It was a great environment. I got up there and went on the field, talked to a couple of the coaches, Coach Newsome and Stinespring. Since they already offered, they were just telling me how if I go there I can get a great education and how Virginia Tech is a good school and a nice program to be in. After that, we went to our seats and watched the game."
Thomas was impressed with the Hokie victory over the Seminoles.
"The game was great," he said. "I had a good time and enjoyed myself. The crowd was rowdy; Virginia Tech has great fan support. I love that. I'm a passionate person too and their fans are passionate about the team. When I went to the concessions, a bunch of fans came up and said it'd be nice to have you here.
"As for the game, what really impressed me was that they got down and kept coming back. They punched it in for a touchdown and got a stop on defense. They did whatever they needed to do to win."
