Auburn focusing on special teams
If there's one area that needs to be shored up the most going into Auburn's final two regular season games, it's special teams.
Despite putting in extra work on kickoff coverage last week, the Tigers gave up a 67-yard return to Tennessee Tech on their first kick.
"The first one was my fault," said AU special teams coach Eddie Gran. "I had them fitting in the wedge wrong."
Fortunately, AU's kickoff coverage unit played much better the rest of the game, giving up an average of 15.4 yards on Tech's next five returns.
"The next four were absolutely wonderful," said Gran. "It was great to see them. They covered great though the kicks were not very good, but the coverage was great until the last one when we got the penalty."
