Offense looking for more big plays
It's shouted in fields, on lawns and in parks everywhere. A quarterback drops back to pass, waves his arms frantically, telling his receivers to "go deep."
The lure of the big play and its impact isn't exclusive to pick-up games. For the Ole Miss offense this season, the big play has been the one consistent factor in the unit's success.
When the Rebel offense has been at its best this season, it has been the running of BenJarvus Green-Ellis that's carried them. It's been the big play.
"You want to have big plays in a ball game," quarterback Seth Adams said. "We've done it this year; we've had big plays through the air."
The Rebels have had 16 pass plays for 30 or more yards, eight plays of 40 or more yards and four plays of four or more yards.
However, in the past two weeks, the Rebel offense hasn't been able to get off that big, homerun swing.
