Insider: Recoveries sounds better than they look

USCFootball.com The injured Trojans said they felt better, but few of them looked any better.
Defensive end Kyle Moore returned to practice, after the MRI on his left knee revealed nothing beyond a bruise. Offensive lineman Thomas Herring practiced on his sprained ankle.
USC's leading rusher, Stafon Johnson, took a few reps against the scout team but clearly favored his healthy leg.
"I'm hoping he'll show something tomorrow to give us some confidence he's OK," coach Pete Carroll said of Johnson, who has a sprained left foot.
The rest of the rehabbers either stayed to the side or did less than they had done the day before, as USC prepares for its trip to Notre Dame.
