Longhorn Hot 11
Jason Suchomel
Orangebloods.com Throughout the football season, we at Orangebloods.com will offer up our insights about the Longhorns that we believe were the hottest players on the Texas football team.
It's a fine line ranking the top players from week to week, and there are usually several guys that just miss the cut. As always, we encourage readers to head over to the Inside the Forty Acres board to offer up their own opinions.
THE LONGHORN HOT 11 | Rank | | Player | The Analysis | Last Week |
1 | | Colt McCoy | McCoy turned in quite possibly his best game as a Longhorn last week, throwing for 298 yards and four touchdowns and running for 50 yards and another score. He was accurate in his throws, he ran with surprising power and balance, and he's really taken on an unquestioned leadership role. | 2 | 2 | | Brandon Foster | For much of the game, Foster was faced with the task of containing Iowa State wide receiver Todd Blythe, and he won that battle. In fact, he dominated. Blythe caught only three passes in the game and Foster had another pick-6, his third defensive touchdown of the year, setting a single-season team record. | 10 | 3 | | Nate Jones | Is there another player that has stepped up his game for Texas as much as Jones has? He's been on this list just about every week, and he's turned into maybe the team's best pass catcher. He caught seven balls for 125 and a score and he leads the team in every major receiving statistic. | N/A |
