Headed for No. 2
This is getting ridiculous.
If you believe in dream seasons, you have to believe it takes a certain amount of luck to get where you want to go.
That said, what's happened to BC in its rise trough the Top 25 has been incredible - and it's been achieved without the Eagles playing what you'd call a dominating game against four lesser opponents.
The Eagles should be No. 2 in the new polls, but that's only if the voters don't get swayed by South Florida's loud win while BC was struggling - some - in South Bend. Think about it, though - BC No. 2 and South Florida No 3? Or vice-versa?
Back to the game. What did we learn about this BC football team from what happened in South Bend Saturday?
First of all, we learned these Eagles are good enough to not play well and still win. We've seen it often enough in this strange 7-0 start to know it's more than coincidence. This team is loaded with seniors, loaded with coaching - and even the numerous mistakes like the ones they made Saturday aren't enough to cost them victories against bad teams.
